Robin Robertson is from the north-east coast of Scotland. He has published seven books of poetry and received a number of accolades, including the Petrarca-Preis, the E.M. Forster Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and all three Forward Prizes. His long narrative poem set in post-war America, ‘The Long Take’ (2018), won the Walter Scott Prize for Historical Fiction, the Goldsmiths Prize for innovative fiction and was the first poem to be shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Ocean Vuong described it as ‘an inter-genre tour de force… a ravishing achievement’ and John Banville as: ‘a masterly work of art… almost unbearably moving.’www.robinrobertson.co.uk
