Clyo Mendoza (Oaxaca, 1993) is a Mexican writer and poet. She studied Hispanic literature at the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM). She has coordinated writing workshops and has collaborated with different international publications such as El País. She published the books of poems Anamnesis (2016) and Silencio (2018), for which she was awarded the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz International Poetry Award in 2017. She also participated in the anthologies Poetas parricidas (2014), Tiembla (2018), Los reyes subterráneos. Veinte poetas jóvenes de México (2015) and Todo pende de una transparencia. Muestra de poesía mexicana reciente (2016). She has been a FONCA grant holder for poetry and novels, and a resident grant holder for the Antonio Gala Foundation in Cordoba, Spain. Furia (2021), her first novel, received the Primera Novela Award in 2022. She currently lives and writes in Oaxaca.
