Gabriela Wiener (Lima, 1975) is a writer and journalist. Her first stories were published in the Peruvian magazine Etiqueta Negra. She served as chief editor of Marie Claire in Spain and a columnist for the New York Times’ Spanish-language edition. She currently writes a column in eldiario.es. She won Peru’s National Journalism Prize for an investigative report on a case of gender-based violence. She is the author of the books Sexographies (2008), Nine Moons (2009), Llamada perdida (2014), Dicen de mí (2017) as well as the collection of poems Ejercicios para el endurecimiento del espíritu (2017). Her work has appeared in national and international anthologies, and has been translated into English, Portuguese, Polish, French and Italian. She recently wrote and starred in the play Qué locura enamorarme yo de ti (2019). Her latest book is the novel Huaco Retrato (2021). This year she will publish the book of poems Una pequeña fiesta llamada eternidad and the script for Qué locura enamorarme yo de ti along with other pieces. She currently lives and writes in Madrid.
