Mateo García Elizondo (Ciudad de México, 1987) is a screenwriter and novelist. His work has appeared in publications such as Nexos, Revista Casa de las Américas, Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos, and Quimera. He was the screenwriter for the feature film Desierto (2016), winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the Toronto Film Festival. His novel Una cita con la Lady (2019) won the Premio Ciutat de Barcelona for Literature in Spanish and has been translated into eight languages. In 2021, he was selected as part of the list of The Best Young Spanish-Language writers 2 by Granta magazine.
