Sabina Urraca (San Sebastián, 1984) is a Spanish writer, editor and journalist. She studied audiovisual communication at the Complutense University of Madrid and scriptwriting at ECAM. She is the author of the novel Las niñas prodigio (2017 Javier Morote Award granted by CEGAL), Soñó con la chica que robaba un caballo (2021) and the photographic novella Cha-cha-chá (Dueto) (2023). Her stories have appeared in publications such as The White Review, The Washington Square Review, Mercurio or Matador. She is the editor of Panza de Burro by Andrea Abreu (2020) and the 2023-2024 Caballo de Troya collection. In 2020 she received a writing grant from the University of Iowa. She recently received the Leonardo creative grant from the BBVA Foundation. She has been the beneficiary of the artistic residencies Axóuxere, Es far cultural and Manoir de la Moissie. She currently collaborates with publications such as El País, El Cultural, Cinemanía and Vice. She lives and writes in Madrid.
